GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Social Science Division at Central Methodist University is seeking an Assistant Professor of Psychology to join our faculty. This full-time, benefits-eligible, tenure-track position carries a 9-month contract beginning in August 2025.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will:
- Teach and assess students within a 4/4 load including sections of Developmental Psychology, as well as classes covering Abnormal, Health Psychology, and other topics.
- Collaborate with colleagues to conduct yearly programmatic assessment.
- Coordinate course offerings with faculty in the department as well as the Division of Teacher Education.
- Advise social science majors.
- Participate in faculty and division meetings.
- Participate on faculty committees.
- Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
A master’s degree in psychology is required, doctorate is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate will work approximately 40 hours per week on the Fayette campus.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Experience using an iPad, Microsoft Office Suite, and OneDrive are helpful.
